Export an MP4
- Play the timeline once from start to end.
- Select Export.
- Choose the size: Original, 720p, 1080p, or 4K.
- Start the export, and wait while the editor renders the video.
Screen Recorder renders the video on your Mac with hardware encoding, and uploads nothing. The video has the frame rate of the recording: 30 or 60 fps.
Which size should you choose?
Original is the size of the editor canvas: the recording, scaled down to fit 2560 × 1440 when it is larger. It keeps screen text sharpest. Choose 1080p or 4K when a service or a client asks for that size.
What is in the file?
The MP4 contains everything on the timeline: the screen, the camera, the zooms, the cursor, the background, the sound, and the captions. There is no watermark.
To share the file, upload it to the service you already use, for example YouTube, Slack, Notion, or your help centre. For a full walkthrough, read how to export an MP4.
